In the Turkish flat steel market, after a quiet week following last week's price hikes, in the last day of the week Turkish steelmaker Çolakoğlu Metalürji increased its March production hot rolled coil (HRC) domestic prices by $20/mt as compared to last week to $830/mt ex-works.
After the producers' flat steel price hikes last week, traders in the Turkish domestic steel market have also pushed up their own sales prices. SteelOrbis has learned that in this week's Turkish domestic spot market HRC offers have been at $800-830/mt, while 1-1.5 mm CRC offers have been at $950-980/mt, both ex-warehouse.
As regards Turkey's flat steel imports, SteelOrbis has learned that Ukrainian flat steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) has already filled its order books for its February production, and the producer is expected to announce its new flat steel offers for its March production in the coming weeks.
On Turkey's flat steel import side, Turkish integrated steelmaker Erdemir is expected to issue its flat steel export offers for the first time in a long while, once the flat steel prices of European steel producers become clear. Other Turkish flat steel producers Çolakoğlu Metalürji and Tosyalı have flat steel export offers at different levels depending on the market, but the general export offer price range stands at $780-800/mt FOB.
