Turkish CRC buyers still exert downward pressure on domestic prices

Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish cold rolled coil (CRC) market has remained at low levels. Turkish buyers have continued to postpone their purchases and are still exerting downward pressure on domestic CRC quotations. Meanwhile, buyers in the local Turkish CRC market are worried due to the negative outlook for the Turkish economy, while they do not expect a revival in demand in the short term. Additionally, Turkish producers’ CRC prices have remained stable week on week at $660-670/mt ex-works.

In the spot market, prices of domestic CRC sold by local traders have also moved sideways week on week and are at the following levels:

The offers are on ex-warehouse basis, for October delivery, and exclude 18 percent VAT.
