Turkish coated steel prices under pressure, demand low

Demand has remained low and prices have not changed since last week in the Turkish coated steel market. But with the negative effect from lower scrap prices, buyers believe flat steel offers will decline further in addition to the drops seen last week. "Our prices are under pressure, but we already gave discounts last week and hot rolled coil prices have not declined significantly in the country. It is not possible for us to give another discount, maybe only $5-10/mt, and only for real buyers," a producer told SteelOrbis.

On the export side, demand has also failed to improve and prices have remained at the same levels.
