As the week is drawing to a close, higher hot rolled coil offers have started to be voiced in the local market in Turkey. Some mills have started to offer $505/mt ex-works to buyers, while some say next week their offers will be at $510/mt ex-works. Still, $495-500/mt ex-works is considered to be still available from some producers. The HRC is mainly available for October-November production for local customers. Import offers have been coming at $480-505/mt CFR depending on the origin, as SteelOrbis reported earlier today.

In the export segment, offers from Turkey have been set mainly at $485-495/mt FOB, for October-November deliveries. According to the market information, a 30,000 mt HRC lot has recently been sold to Italy at $495/mt FOB effective. However, some sources have doubts the CFR price based on the euro in this deal would be widely workable for the European market. “Prices in the EU will rise for sure, but such levels seem to be hard to achieve just yet,” a trader told SteelOrbis.
