Turkey’s CRC prices rise due to stronger market fundamentals

Re-rollers in Turkey have managed to increase their offer prices for cold rolled coils (CRC), taking into account slightly improved demand and some shortage of material available in the market. In particular, the ex-CIS allocation has been almost non-existent.

Domestic CRC prices in Turkey have increased by $10-20/mt over the past week to $600-620/mt ex-works base from most mills. In the meantime, some producers are offering $630-640/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned. The offers are for December and January production. “There is demand for January deliveries and overall the market looks stable in terms of HRC, scrap and the rest. The only issue now is the local currency,” a trader told SteelOrbis.
