During the week ending October 9, traders have been tentatively pushing up their hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market. Average HRC prices in the local market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

Amid the increase of iron ore costs, relatively low HRC market inventory and expectations of another round of increases in mills' new HRC prices, market prices of HRC in China have moved up after the National Day holiday.

For the coming week, it is thought that HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will move on a sideways trend.
