Tokyo Steel has announced that it will carry over its domestic list price for HRC along with other products such as H-beams into August.
SPHC HRC list price is presently at JPY 74,000/mt ($656/mt) ex-mill. Prices are being maintained stable month-over-month as “market prices are lagging the list price increases.” List prices are reportedly supported by increases in electrodes, oil, electricity and other input costs according to Kyhoshi Imamura, a company managing director. The company has reportedly primarily focused in domestic sales, but with the recent JPY devaluation, the company said it may take opportunities for export placement. Import bids on HRC are reportedly at $640-650 FOB, stable since June. July production is expected at 90,000 mt for HRC with a third potentially produced for export.
Compared to JPY 74,000/mt ($669/mt) ex-mill a month ago, prices have declined $13/mt on currency fluctuations.
