Stable activity keeps coated steel prices unchanged in Ukraine and Russia

The coated flat steel markets in Russia and Ukraine have been characterized by low but stable activity, which has supported prices and kept them at the same levels since last month. Thus, offers for hot dip galvanized (HDG) coils with thickness of 0.45 mm are standing at the level of $1,065/mt ex-warehouse in Ukraine, including VAT and are at $1,021-1,111/mt ex-warehouse in Russia including VAT produced by NLMK and Severstal and offered by traders in central Russia. In addition, 0.5 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated HDG produced by Ilyich Iron and Steel Works and NLMK is offered at levels of $1,040-1.081/mt ex-warehouse including VAT by traders in central Russia, while the same material is offered in Ukraine at $1,027/mt ex-warehouse, including VAT.
 
Alternative offers for HDG materials from China are cheaper, though thickness and qualities are different. Nevertheless, consumers can find offers of 0.35 100 gr/m² zinc-coated HDG at $835-840/mt CIF Russian ports and at $810-815/mt CIF Ukrainian ports. In the meantime, Chinese offers for 0.5 mm 60 gr/m² zinc-coated color coated coils (PPGI) are standing at $850-855/mt CIF Ukrainian ports and are at $810-815/mt CIF Ukrainian ports for 0.45 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI.
