During the week ending November 25, hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have indicated upward movement for thick specifications, while remaining stable for thin specifications. Overall transaction activity in the market has continued to be sluggish. Average HRC prices in the local Chinese market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

During the given week, supplies of HRC arriving in the market have been at low levels, resulting in shortages on the traders' side and price rises for thick specifications. As for the coming period, up to mid-December, new supplies arriving at the traders' side are expected to be limited and so shortages of material will continue to be seen in the market for another while, thereby providing some support for prices. It is expected that HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will indicate slight fluctuations in the coming week.
