Notwithstanding the domestic market end-user demand and construction projects are at very low levels partially due to the current summer vacation in both the Romanian and European markets, Romanian sole flat steel producer has decided to stay in line with previous offerings. According to market participants, the market perspective will be clearer with the start of the new month when the holiday season will be over, however, most traders do not expect any positive development in the local market for the months to come.
Over the past week, the domestic flat steel producer in Romania has continued to maintain the previous week’s levels and offers for the September production of hot rolled coil (HRC) and cot rolled coil (CRC) at €675/mt ex-works and €795/mt ex-works, respectively.
Likewise, the mill's domestic market pricing for HDG and PPGI in the category of coated steel held steady from the prior week at €825/mt ex-works and €1,115/mt ex-works, respectively.
On the other hand, traders' pricing for hot rolled sheets (HRS) and cold rolled sheets (CRS) has also remained unchanged from last week, at €760-790/mt ex-warehouse and €880-900/mt ex-warehouse, respectively.
Moreover, in the import segment, offers have remained stable as of last week. According to sources, Ukraine has been offering HRS and CRS at €660/mt and €750-760/mt DAP respectively.
