Although Romania’s sole flat steel producer has been offering considerable reductions for several weeks, the supplier has decided to leave the offers on hold this week, just like Romanian-based flat steel traders. According to market participants, the prices have almost reached their lowest point. However, since demand has continued to remain insufficient, the majority of suppliers has chosen to keep their silence.
“No change in terms of pricing on our side. Demand wise as well, still extremely low. Generally, the market is looking at a bottom and hoping this is it, but nobody is willing to take a position,” a representative of the sole producer commented to SteelOrbis.
The domestic steel producer in Romania maintains the previous week’s levels and offers the August production of hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) at €655/mt ex-works and €770/mt ex-works, respectively. Similarly, traders' pricing for hot rolled sheets (HRS) and cold rolled sheets (CRS) has remained unchanged from last week, at €800-820/mt ex-warehouse and €960-1,000/mt ex-warehouse, respectively.
Moreover, the mill’s domestic market pricing for HDG and PPGI in the category of coated steel held steady from the prior week at €800/mt ex-works and €1,090/mt ex-works, respectively.
While in the import segment, ex-Ukraine has reportedly attempted to boost its HRS offer this week in comparison to earlier offers. According to sources, offers have increased from €645/mt to €685-690/mt DAP, while CRS is offered at €800/mt DAP.
