Quiet import activity in Turkish HRC market

Demand for import hot rolled coil (HRC) in Turkey has remained slack this week, while no new import HRC offer has been heard in the market in the same period.

However, following the declines seen in ex-CIS HRC prices, Turkish buyers have been expecting a further decline in import HRC prices in the past two weeks. As a result, market sources state that the upper ends of ex-Russia and ex-Ukraine HRC offers to Turkey, which were respectively at $520/mt CFR and $515/mt CFR last week, are unlikely to be accepted in the market now.
