Price of imported CRC increases in Brazil

Brazil imported 8,300 mt of CRC in August, one of the lowest monthly volumes recently, against 17,300 mt in July, according to the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC.

The average FOB price of the imported CRC has increased from $657/mt in July to $699/mt in August.

China was the main origin (5,200 mt at $641/mt), followed by South Korea (1,700 mt at $733/mt), Sweden (600 mt at $1,084/mt), and Taiwan (400 mt at $759/mt), while smaller tonnages were shipped from Australia and Japan.

Meanwhile, Brazil exported in July 3,100 mt of CRC, of which 1,800 mt by Usiminas at $753/mt and 1,300 mt from ArcelorMittal at $626/mt, both FOB conditions.

The last offer of CRC received from China by Brazilian importers was priced at $660/mt, against $655/mt one month ago, CFR conditions for shipment to a port in the south or southeastern coast of Brazil, with the SAE 1008/SPCC grade as reference.
