The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports remains at $800/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference, the same over the last two months.
In October, Brazil exported 14,300 mt of HDG, while importing 20,900 mt of the product, against respectively 20,700 mt and 15,000 mt in September.
The exports in October were all destined to South American countries, shipped by CSN (10,000 mt at $684/mt), ArcelorMittal (3,000 mt at $618/mt), Usiminas (1,000 mt at $607/mt) and traders (300 mt at $822/mt), all FOB conditions.
The imports originated from China (18,900 mt at $564/mt), South Korea (1,800 mt at $834/mt) and Europe (200 mt at $842/mt), also FOB conditions.
The last offer of import HDG from China was priced at $718/mt, little changed from $719/mt two weeks ago, CFR conditions for a port in the South or Southeastern coast of Brazil, with reference to the Z100/SGCC grade.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers at BRL 4,527/mt ($838/mt), against BRL 4,665/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included. The reduction reflects exchange rate variations.
