Mexican domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are now in the range of $537/mt ex mill, reflecting a $73/mt drop in the last two months.

Mexico expects more than 100 companies associated with the automobile industry to come to the Bajio region over the next few years, including three projects with a combined investment of $200 million. Currently, companies from Japan, Germany, the United States, among others, have investments in the Mexican auto industry.

However, the positive demand forecast has not translated in to flat steel prices, as CRC prices have still trended along with the international market.
