Mexican HRC prices fell US$11/mt in the last two weeks to settle at US$677/mt ex-mill.

However, the fall in prices not entirely related to demand, more of a seasonal slowdown in activity during the holidays. Source are looking ahead to 2015, especially the expected rise in demand from the auto sector.

With a rise of 8.2 percent in automotive exports by comparing the first 11 months of this year with the same period of the previous year, Mexico has placed more than 2.447 million cars in foreign markets, which has ranked the Mexican auto industry as the largest consumer of flat steel in Mexico.
