Mexican domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) prices fell US$30/mt in the last month to reach US$823/mt ex-mill.

Sources tell SteelOrbis that trends in the global marketplace are continuing to affect the Mexican flats market’s downtrend. However, the recovery in oil prices is said to bode well for all steel markets, and industry sources expect improvement in order activity and prices in the second quarter.
