Mexican CRC price started the month at the level of US$816/mt ex-mill, but this week prices dropped about US$4/mt to reach US$812/mt ex-mill.

Experts expected in mid-February that the price of the CRC would increase from US$10-$20/mt every month. But in the first week of March, prices increased by US$26/mt from the last week of February, when prices closed at US$790/mt ex-mill.

The slight dip in prices in the last week is expected to be short-lived, however, as forecasts continue to point up based on confidence in the Mexican economy in international markets, which has strengthened the peso against the US dollar in recent days. This behavior could continue for several months, according to sources.  It is estimated that the exchange rate will remain at an average of 12 pesos and 50 cents on the dollar, at least for the remainder of the first half of this year.
