In the local Turkish spot market, prices of HRC and HR pickled and oiled materials have not changed over the past week, though CRC prices have increased by another $20/mt in the same period. Demand has remained low and the market is still not fully open after the New Year holiday. Stocks have remained low and traders continue to wait and observe the market conditions, while business activity on the producers' side is really slow. "We are not in a hurry and we think everybody wants to understand the current situation in the market. Market dynamics have been changing since the new scrap imports of China. Many market players want to see the new scrap deals in Turkey because they affect HRC and other flat steel prices directly and rapidly," a trader told SteelOrbis.
Prices have increased $20/mt for CRC and remained stable for HRC and HR pickled and oiled materials over the past week.
