Demand in the local Turkish cold rolled coil (CRC) spot market has remained slack this week, just like in the previous week. Despite the weak demand, Turkish producers’ CRC prices have increased by $10/mt on the lower end in the past week to the range of $590-600/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT, for May production, in line with rising prices of raw material and due to the increase in Chinese flat steel offers. Meanwhile, prices in the local Turkish CRC spot market have risen by an average of $10-15/mt CFR in the same period.

Currently, traders’ CRC prices in the local Turkish spot market are as follows:

 Product

Price ($/mt)

Eregli

Gebze

0.6 mm CRC

635-640

635-655

0.7-2 mm CRC

580-590

600-620

The offers are on ex-warehouse basis, for April delivery, and exclude 18 percent VAT.
