Domestic demand for flats in Romania has remained relatively slow, amid economic difficulties in the country and the overall downtrend in the segment seen across the EU in recent weeks. This week, Romania’s sole flats producer has kept its official offers stable after dropping them last week, while traders have decided to provide discounts for hot rolled sheets (HRS). In the meantime, while their offers for cold rolled sheets (CRS) have increased due to the better market situation.
This week, prices for domestic origin hot rolled coil (HRC) in Romania have remained unchanged at €690/mt ex-works. “We maintained prices, while there is a low appetite [for flat steel locally] for the end of the year and in the import segment,” an official at the Romanian mill told SteelOrbis. In the meantime, traders' pricing for HRS has dropped by €20-30/mt over the past week to €835-870/mt ex-warehouse.
Domestic prices for cold rolled coil (CRC) in Romania have settled this week at €830/mt ex-works. Furthermore, achievable prices for CRS have increased to €990-1,020/mt ex-warehouse, from €945-1,000/mt ex-warehouse previously.
According to sources, Bulgaria has been offering HRS and CRS at €830/mt DAP and €980/mt DAP, respectively.
Furthermore, in the coated steel segment, domestic market offers for HDG and PPGI are unchanged from the previous week at €880/mt ex-works and €1,210/mt ex-works, respectively.
