Given the slower market demand and liquidity issues, Romanian flat steel spot prices failed to maintain stability and fell over the last week. While smaller and mid-sized traders drove prices lower to boost business activity, larger traders tried to maintain the top level of workable values. The sole flat steel producer, on the other hand, has maintained offers unchanged, but the situation continues to be gloomy due to financial issues.
As a result, over the past week, in the spot market, traders have quoted HRS prices at €700-735/mt ex-warehouse, down from €725-750/mt ex-warehouse, and CRS prices at €820-845/mt ex-warehouse, down from €835-850/mt ex-warehouse, both week on week.
Meanwhile, sources claim that the sole flat steel producer has kept offers stable for hot rolled coils (HRC) at €590-600/mt CPT from last week.
Furthermore, in the import segment, HRC offers from Turkey have continued to remain stable this week, with FOB prices at approximately $530-540/mt and freight costs at around €25/mt, resulting in a price to Romania at around €535-545/mt CFR. Similarly, Ukraine's HRS and CRS sheet prices remain unchanged from last week, at €650-660/mt DAP and €740-750/mt DAP, respectively.
