During the week ending June 21, average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have been almost stable, with just very slight downticks seen in prices, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, ferrous metal futures prices in China have moved down, while downstream users of HDG have not made purchases in the expected quantities after the Dragon Boat Festival (June 16-18). Inventory levels in the HDG market have decreased at a slower pace in the past week and may increase in the coming period due to the rainy season and hot weather. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move on a soft trend in the coming week.
