During the week ending June 8, the average prices of Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) have declined, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, the finished steel markets in China have mostly followed a soft trend, exerting a negative impact on the local HDG market. Purchases of HDG in the Yangtze River area will be negatively affected in the coming period by hot and rainy weather conditions. Meanwhile, the downward trend of HRC prices will also weaken HDG prices. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move down further in the coming week.
