The uptrend in Turkey’s hot rolled coil market has continued as local mills have started the new week with another price increase, beginning active offering for March production. Import offers have also increased since last week, while some suppliers have already managed to sell significantly over $600/mt CFR.

According to sources, two of three local mills are in the market with $650-660/mt ex-works, while late last week offers were voiced at $620-630/mt ex-works. In the import segment, offers from Russia have reached $630-635/mt CFR, while the most recent deals for 10,000-15,000 mt were closed at around $620/mt CFR, SteelOrbis has learned. The latest deals from Ukraine have been confirmed at $610/mt CFR. Some sources say the new offers are at $620/mt CFR, while some claim the supplier has already been able to sell some volumes at or close to this level. However, this information has not been confirmed by the time of publication.
