Italian producers’ flat steel product prices for their domestic market have remained stable for the third consecutive week in the range of €430-450/mt ($491-513/mt), for hot rolled coil (HRC), €520-535/mt ($593-610/mt) for cold rolled coil (CRC) and at €520/mt ($593/mt) for hot dip galvanized (HDG), all ex-works.

Market sources predict that in the coming period there will be no significant price changes, even if European producers are trying to push for new increases. There are two obstacles to any price increases: on the one hand, demand though stable is modest, while, on the other hand, there is the threat that import offers may become attractive for buyers.
