Import HRC prices to Turkey remain unchanged

Demand for import hot rolled coil (HRC) in the Turkish market has failed to improve during the past week and is still at low levels.

CIS-based suppliers' HRC offers to the global market have moved sideways with their HRC offers to Turkey remaining at $385-400/mt CFR over the past week as Turkish buyers have been concluding purchases only in line with their needs and also amid general expectations of a revival in trading activity after the Feast of Sacrifice holiday (September 12-15).

It has been observed that Chinese HRC export prices have moved up since the beginning of August and are now in the range of $395-405/mt CFR. Meanwhile, market sources report that Turkish buyers consider these levels to be on the high side and so they are not expected to conclude purchases of Chinese HRC in the short term.
