Over the past week, import hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market have remained stable, while demand has remained weak. Due to the approach of the new year, buyers are avoiding from making new bookings and are waiting for prices to decrease further. Ex-China HRC offers to the UAE are still at $520-525$/mt CFR, while ex-India HRC offers to the country have also remained unchanged week-on-week at $530-535/mt CFR. However, Indian exporters are not much active in the global market, generally making sales to neighboring countries. Meanwhile, HRC offers to the UAE from CIS-based exporters, who made no new price offer to the UAE market last week, are at $505/mt CFR, according to market sources.
