SteelOrbis has learned that import hot rolled coil (HRC) offers for the US from Mexican mills currently range from approximately $370 /mt to $390 /mt CPT US border crossing.

Venezuelan HRC offers for the US are also at around $370 /mt to $390 /mt, CFR FO in US Gulf Coast ports.

On the cold rolled coil (CRC) side, Mexican mills are offering the most competitively-priced imports for the US. Import CRC offers from Mexican mills range from $470 /mt to $490 /mt CPT US border crossing. CRC offers from Argentina range from approximately $480 /mt to $500 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports, while Brazilian CRC is offered at $500 /mt to $520 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports.

Import CRC offers from India for the US have dropped by approximately $30 /mt since last week with most offers now ranging from $500 /mt to $520 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports. There are also some Chinese CRC offers for the US, though they are not competitive compared to those of other CRC import sources, at a range of $520 /mt to $540 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports (reflecting a decrease of $10 /mt since last week).

Please note: CFR and CPT prices only include the foreign mill's ex-works steel price and the freight cost to transport the steel to the US. These prices do not include the cost of services such as insurance, duties, trader's fees, wharfage, loading to truck, delivery to inland destination, etc.
