Over the past week, import flat steel demand in Turkey has remained weak, while import flat steel offer prices given from the CIS region to Turkey have continued to increase. As Turkish mills ensure an advantage for their domestic buyers in terms of price and delivery times, Turkish buyers have sought discounts on ex-CIS flat steel offers. However, CIS-based suppliers have turned down these discount requests and have instead increased their prices amid the ongoing increases in global raw material and flat steel prices.

During the past week, ex-CIS flat steel offer to Turkey moved up by $20/mt week on week. Accordingly, Ukrainian hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to Turkey are currently at $505-510/mt CFR and Russian HRC offers to Turkey stand at $510-520/mt CFR, respectively. Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian cold rolled coil (CRC) offers to Turkey currently stand at $560-565/mt CFR and $560-570/mt CFR, respectively.
