Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $1,200/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, unchanged over the last four weeks.
In August, Brazil exported 64,700 mt of HRC, while importing 4,000 mt of the product. The exports were destined to South American countries (44,700 mt at $1,087/mt), Portugal (16,200 mt at $553/mt) and Mexico (3,800 mt at $1,020/mt), all FOB conditions. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (43,700 mt at $1,091/mt), CSN (16,200 mt at $553/mt) and Usiminas (4,800 mt at $998/mt).
The imports were from China (3,800 mt at $697/mt) and South Korea (200 mt at $688/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is offered at BRL 7,000/mt ($1,328/mt) against BRL 7,068/mt two weeks ago, ex-works conditions, no taxes included. Such price refers to high and medium sized volumes of the product, when sold directly to large consumers or to distributors.
