HRC export offers decline in Brazil

Brazilian producers remain negotiating HRC exports with South American clients in a reference price of $740/mt, against $760/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

Meanwhile, importers in the North of the country are receiving offers from Asian producers in the range of $690/mt to $700/mt, also FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

In January, Brazil exported 19,200 mt of HRC, while importing 41,800 mt of the product, comparable to 34,800 mt and 4,000 mt, respectively, in December.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is offered at BRL 4,592/mt ($849/mt), against BRL 4,526/mt two weeks ago, CFR conditions, no taxes included. Such price refers to high and medium sized volumes of the product, when sold directly to large consumers or to distributors.
