HDG prices decline in Brazil

A Brazilian exporter told SteelOrbis that hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) are currently trading for export at $726/mt, FOB conditions, a decline of $30/mt from negotiations held two weeks ago, having the G40 grade product as reference.
 
He mentioned that the reduction reflects an effort to increase exports by following market price trends.
 
According to the source, exports of HDG in September increased from August, as there were some postponements of shipments originally scheduled for August, in addition to an operational problem, already solved, with one of the plants that produce HDG. 
 
The Brazilian exports of HDG declined from 31,300 mt in July to 10,300mt in August, reflecting exports by CSN to the US reduced from 25,400 mt to 2,000 mt, while exports by Usiminas have doubled to 7,800 mt.
