SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that local offers for 0.5 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated hot dip galvanized coil (HDG) in Ukraine are standing in the range of $1,075–1,130/mt ex-warehouse, including 20 percent VAT. Prices are still accepted by Ukranian buyers even though offers for the same product from Turkey and China remain lower, with ex-China offers for 0.5 mm HDG at $760-785/mt CIF Black Sea port.
Market players state that buying activity in the local market is expected to slow down in coming weeks due to the New Year and Christmas holiday season which will start at the end of December and continue until mid-January.
