Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) export offers are currently $960/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference, against $920/mt two weeks ago.
In February, Brazil exported 68,900 mt of HDG while importing 29,500 mt of the product, comparable to 4,200 mt and 14,700 mt, respectively, in February.
The exporters in March were Usiminas (64,300 mt at $576/mt) and ArcelorMittal (4,200 mt at $651/mt), while small volumes were exported by CSN and traders. The main destinations were Europe (34,700 mt at $525/mt), South America (25,000 mt at $651/mt) and the US (8,800 mt at $643/mt), all FOB conditions.
The main origin of the imports was China (25,000 mt), followed by France (1,500 mt at $935/mt) and South Korea (1,300 mt at $875/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, medium to large volumes to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,435/mt ($1,151/mt), ex-works, no taxes included, against BRL 5,935/mt two weeks ago. The increase reflects higher international prices of the product.
