The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for the export from Brazil to South American countries is $1,110/mt today, against $1,160/mt three weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In April, Brazil exported 43,800 mt and imported 32,100 mt of HDG, against respectively 52,800 mt and 20,800 mt in March.
The exports were destined to the US (32,100 mt at $1,313/mt) and to South American countries (11,700 mt at $1,627/mt), while the exporters were CSN (32,400 mt at $1,315/mt), ArcelorMittal (6,700 mt at $1,625/mt), Usiminas (4,600 mt at $1,642/mt) and traders (100 mt at $1,398/mt), all FOB conditions.
The imports were from Asia (30,200 mt, of which 27,700 mt at $722/mt from China) and Europe (1,900 mt at $738/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,450/mt ($1,306/mt), against BRL 6,970/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
