The reference price hot dipped galvanized exports from Brazil to South American countries is $1,200/mt, stable from three weeks ago, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In July, Brazil exported 42,600 mt and imported 16,500 mt of HDG, against respectively 17,200 mt and 39,500 mt in June.
The destinations of the exports in July were the US (19,800 mt at $1,399/mt), South America (18,100mt at $1,330/mt) and Portugal (4,700 mt at $1,088/mt). The exporters were CSN (24,500 mt), Usiminas (11,200 mt) and ArcelorMittal (6,700 mt), while a small volume was shipped by traders.
The imports were from Asia (16,100 mt, of which 12,600 mt at $1,095/mt) and Europe (400 mt at $1,839/mt).
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 7,000/mt ($1,357/mt), against BRL 7,200/mt one month ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
