The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries, is $1,160/mt today, against $1,220/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In March, Brazil exported 52,800 mt and imported 20,800 mt of HDG, against respectively 46,200 mt and 36,500 mt in February.
The exports were destined to South American countries (28,200 mt at $1,184/mt), the US (13,800 mt at $940/mt), and to Belgium (10,800 mt at $349/mt, certainly not a market price), all FOB conditions.
The exporters were Usiminas (34,400 mt), CSN (14,000 mt) and ArcelorMittal (4,200 mt), while 200 mt at $1,318/mt were shipped by traders.
The imports were from Asia (20,000 mt, of which 17,600 mt at $875/mt from China), and Europe (800 mt at $1,264/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,970/mt ($1,380/mt), against BRL 7,500/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
