The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports to South American countries is $1,200/mt, against $1,380/mt one month ago, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In June, Brazil exported 17,300 mt and imported 39,500 mt of HDG, against respectively 15,100 mt and 28,700 mt in May.
The destinations of the exports in June were the US (13,900 mt at $1,738/mt) and South America (3,300 mt at $1,583/mt), while a small volume was shipped to Mexico.
The exporters were CSN (14,200mt), Usiminas (2,700 mt) and ArcelorMittal (300 mt), while a small volume was shipped by traders.
The imports were from Asia (38,800 mt at $1,096/mt) and Europe (700 mt at $1,839/mt).
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 7,200/mt ($1,309/mt), against BRL 7,500/mt one month ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
