Since early February, Brazilian producers have remained negotiating Galvalume for export at $920/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
According to a local market source, Galvalume exports remain of secondary interest for local producers, giving priority to local sales where prices are currently at BRL 4,950/mt ($1,463/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, with the AZ-150 grade as reference and sales by distributors in small volumes.
In March, Brazil exported 9,800 mt of Galvalume, all by CSN and destined to the US (9,200 mt) and South American countries (600 mt) at an average FOB price $972/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in January.
Pushed by the high domestic prices, Brazil imported in March 10,500 mt of Galvalume from China at $757/mt, FOB conditions.
