In the Turkish domestic market, most hot rolled coil (HRC) offers are at $750-770/mt ex-works depending on the mill, relatively stable over the past week. The upper end is not yet considered workable, while some 5,000 mt lots have been traded at $760/mt ex-works in the Marmara region. However, some sources have reported offers from the Izmir region to the Iskenderun region at $750/mt delivered, while freight is estimated at around $10/mt. Export offers are at around $750-755/mt FOB. “Producers are not much pushing to sell nowadays. I think they are waiting for the EU and the CIS to leave for the holidays, so that they can do whatever they want,” a local source told SteelOrbis.

In the import segment, Russia’s MMK has increased its offers by $15/mt over the past week to $730/mt CFR for March shipments. According to sources, Ukraine’s Metinvest has been indicating $725/mt CFR for small coils and $735/mt CFR for big coils this week, while the supplier’s allocation for February production is reportedly limited.
