The reference deal prices have been heard at $490/mt FOB to South America, Africa and the Middle East, also moving sideways on average compared to August 4.During the given week, steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market have edged up slightly amid the solid support from rising raw material prices. The outputs of steel plate have been steady, resulting in slight increases in inventory levels. High temperatures in most regions of China have exerted a negative impact on the steel plate market. It is expected that steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market will fluctuate within a limited range in the coming week.
Average Q235 20 mm steel plate spot prices in China have gained RMB 23/mt ($3.2/mt) compared to August 4, standing at RMB 3,520/mt ($493/mt) ex-warehouse, according to SteelOrbis’ information.
As of August 11, HRC futures at Shanghai Futures Exchange are standing at RMB 3,465/mt ($485/mt), increasing by RMB 48/mt ($6.7/mt) since August 4, while up 1.29 percent compared to the previous trading day, August 8.
