On February 23, SteelOrbis reported baseline prices for ex-China flat steel to Chile at $610-615/mt CFR for HRC, $650-655/mt CFR for CRC, and $715/mt CFR for HDG, a continuation of pre-Lunar holiday prices.

With robust global raw material prices and strong trades on positive economic expectations, offer prices reportedly increased from late February into early-March to as high as $650-660/mt CFR for HRC, $680-685/mt CFR for CRC, and $740/mt CFR for HDG. With the uncertainty in the Chinese market through the past week, sources inform SteelOrbis that offers to Chile have decreased to $630-635/mt CFR for HRC, $655-660/mt for CRC, and $690-700/mt for HDG. HRC and CRC offers have declined $25-30/mt from the top offers this month while HDG offers have declined $25/mt from the bottom of the mid-month range and $15/mt from the top of the same range.
