SteelOrbis has learned that major Turkish steel producer
Erdemir has increased its domestic hot rolled coil (
HRC) and cold rolled coil (
CRC) prices by about $20-30/mt.
Accordingly,
Erdemir is now offering February production
HRC to its local market at $650/mt, and
CRC at $780/mt, both ex-works.
While it is yet to be seen whether this price move will gain acceptance in the market, it is thought that it may trigger transaction activity.
