Demand still weak in local Turkish CRC market

Demand has remained weak both on the mills' side and in the spot market in the Turkish domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) market over the past two weeks. However, lower Chinese offers in particular have put pressure on prices in the local Turkish market and in the coming period domestic CRC prices in Turkey will likely move downward in line with the trend of local hot rolled coil (HRC) prices.

Meanwhile, Turkish producers' offers for November production CRC have declined by $5/mt over the past two weeks and are now in the range of $675-685/mt ex-works.

Spot CRC prices have remained unchanged over the same period and are still as follows:

 Product

Price ($/mt)

Eregli

Gebze

0.6 mm CRC

720-740

725-735

0.7-2 mm CRC

680-690

690-700

The offers are on ex-warehouse basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
