Over the past week, buyers in the Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market have continued to postpone their bookings and only made purchases to meet their immediate needs, with demand remaining weak. Turkish domestic HDG prices have not seen any changes during the past week.

Domestic producers' HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

680-710

-

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

635-655

-

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

600-615

-

Regarding exports, demand for Turkish HDG has recovered to reasonable levels, especially being strong in the US and Europe. Despite pressure on their prices in the domestic market, Turkish HDG producers are unwilling to offer any reduction in either domestic or export prices, given the strong demand coming from the export side. Accordingly, Turkish producers' offer prices for the export markets have stayed in the range of $660-690/mt FOB.
