Turkey’s re-rollers find themselves forced to again increase their cold rolled coil (CRC) prices, taking into account that feedstock offers keep climbing. Both local and import hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have hit a new high this week and are expected to increase further.

As a result, over the two weeks, domestic CRC prices in Turkey have increased by $70-80/mt and the product is currently available at $900-940/mt ex-works depending on the supplier. Some mills are still considered to be ready to sell at $890/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis understands. Demand remains moderate but more and more market players are becoming cautious and consider the price situation to be overheated for now. Local HRC prices have hit $720-735/mt ex-works this week. However, the usual difference with CRC prices is $80-100/mt, versus a minimum of $180/mt seen today.
