CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated today at $1,200/mt, against $1,170/mt two weeks ago, CFR conditions, a trader in the northeastern region of Brazil told SteelOrbis.

He added that he has not closed import deals at such price level, serving his clients with current stocks and imported volumes expected to arrive from China over the next few weeks.

In August, Brazil exported 1,900 mt of CRC, in average at $974/mt, while importing 45,400 mt of the product, in average at $774/mt, both FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 7,571/mt ($1,420/mt), little changed from BRL 7,500/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included. The trader in the northeastern region mentioned an offer received from a domestic producer at BRL 7,800/mt ($1,463/mt), CFR conditions, no taxes included.
