CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated in average at $880/mt, CFR conditions, against $850/mt two weeks ago, according to sources.
In July, Brazil exported 7,500 mt and imported 30,700 mt of CRC, against respectively 1,700 mt and 23,800 mt in June.
The exports of July were destined to the US (5,700 mt at $1,000/mt) and South America (1,800 mt at $1,332/mt, FOB conditions. The exporters were Usiminas (7,100 mt at $1,071/mt) and ArcelorMittal (300 mt at $1,305/mt), also FOB conditions. Small volumes were exported by CSN and by traders.
The imports were from China (28,800 mt at $758/mt), South Korea (1,300 mt at $880/mt) and Sweden (600 mt at $1,344/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,530/mt ($1,330/mt), against BRL 6,200/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
Due to a period of reduced offer of steel products in the Brazilian domestic market, the premium in relation to the price of a similar imported product, after clearing customs, remains around 30 percent, according to the country`s steel distributors association INDA.
