During the week ending on May 25, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have moved on a stable trend, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, demand from downstream users has slackened with the approach of the end of the month. In addition, hot and rainy weather conditions have negatively affected the PPGI market. However, some tightness is seen on the supply side, which has provided some support for PPGI prices. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
